How to Set Goals and Achieve Them

image
1. Create a plan. Three important questions to ask yourself: a. Why do I want to achieve this goal?  b. What resources do I need to accomplish my goal?  c. How long will it take me to accomplish my goal?

2. Write it down. When you write your goal on paper, you are confirming your commitment.

3. Take action. It is important not to become overwhelmed. Baby steps allow you to keep track of your successes along the way, but don’t set the bar too low either.

4. Stay positive. Negative thoughts can allow for procrastination. Don’t give up, keep going strong. You set this goal for a reason, stick to it. You are an inspiration to many.

5. Review your progress regularly. This will allow you to make adjustments where appropriate.

6. Reward yourself. When you have accomplished your goal, celebrate your success.

Gratitude

Update: My friend has had a few setbacks, but is recovering well. He has been doing a phenomenal job with physical therapy. I’m so proud of him!

_____________

Yesterday was an emotional day, but yet a day of gratitude. On a two lane road, my friend was on his bike; a vehicle, with one working headlight, attempted to pass another and ended up hitting my friend. The driver stopped and called 9-1-1.

My friend will be hospitalized for 2 weeks and will possibly undergo a total of 4 surgeries. His leg had to be amputated right below the knee and he lost part of finger. He did not sustain any other injuries.

There are so many things to be thankful for. Here’s just a few: the driver stopped and called 9-1-1, his loving wife by his side, he has survived such a traumatic accident, he and his wife make a great team and will conquer all obstacles.

I greatly appreciate all the thoughts and prayers. I respect their privacy and will not disclose his or his wife’s names at this time.
